ukraine special 2023: 22nd - 28TH OF april
On the 24th of February Russia invaded Ukraine. As a result millions of people were displaced internally but the majority of them sought refuge in bordering countries such as Romania, Moldavia, Poland, Slovakia or Czech Republic.
Part of the refugee wave that moved further west in their attempt to seek shelter were youngsters and children from organizations such as SOS Children's Villages Ukraine that were not able to provide a secure and stable environment to their beneficiaries in their home country.
The Speechless Reconciliation Team decided to take an active approach in the context of the situation and applied for a grant, together with their partners in the Rotary Club Ashville, that would enable us to organize a specific edition for those youngsters. Therefore, the aim of the grant was to organize a developmental camp for youngsters that were displaced due to the war in Ukraine with the topic of "New beginnings for a better future.“
