The inaugural Speechless Reconciliation developmental camp was established to create a space where youth from homes for children without proper parental care could unite, irrespective of their backgrounds, to forge relationships and share experiences. The camp’s distinctive feature is its focus on individual and community values, hands-on activities with horses, talents and skills identification, sustainable project building, equipping young people with relevant experiences, and fostering connections through activities that promote empathy and understanding.

For 2024, the theme is “Building Futures Together.” The Speechless Reconciliation European Developmental Camp 2024 provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for young people from homes for children without proper parental care to learn and develop. Participants will take part in a variety of activities aimed at enhancing teamwork, communication skills, future planning, talent identification, leadership abilities, intercultural exchange, and personal growth.

This developmental camp offers a platform for young individuals from diverse countries and cultures to come together and form lasting bonds. With an emphasis on fostering understanding and promoting intercultural connections, the Speechless Reconciliation developmental camp offers a unique and invaluable experience for its participants.

This year’s camp promises to be as thrilling and impactful as previous editions. We are excited to welcome all 22 young participants and anticipate the new relationships and perspectives that will be created during this special week.

As in previous years, participants will join the Speechless Reconciliation alumni network, which now includes nearly 100 young individuals. These alumni benefit from various opportunities through partnerships within the second phase of the program, which is just as crucial as the first phase.

  • „I had experienced a day at the SR Development Camp as a guest delivering a Values Workshop in 2024 and immediately signed up to return this Summer for the full week in the additional role as Mentor. This was a fully immersive, inspiring, emotional and rewarding experience, during which I developed a strong connection with the young adults, who showed such courage and capacity to learn, and my colleagues who also dedicated their time to their development. I have no doubt they will go from strength to strength and I look forward to accompanying them on this journey and reconnecting with everyone from Pisek August 2025 in future."

  • "Coming back to camp as a volunteer after once being a participant is a powerful experience. I could see myself in so many of the youngsters, the same doubts, the same hopes. It felt incredible to share my story and show them what is possible. This program gave me confidence when I needed it most, and now I have the chance to give that back."

    Tamara Fratrić, Volunteer 2025

  • "I often go into these camps with the worry that these youngsters aren’t going to want to participate in developmental workshops, and they’re just in it for the capture the flag and a fun camp with their friends as I would have been at 16. Every year, I am happily disappointed. They were incredibly engaged, approached almost every activity, lesson, and conflict with an open mind and a true thirst for improvement. If I took away one thing, it was that in my own life I should practice this level of open mindedness, if everyone carried themselves like these youngsters, the world would be a better place."
